"Patriotism is an inner feeling that is difficult to define; for each of us
it has a different meaning and each of us meets it with a different
emotional reaction - a feeling of pride, gaiety, a lump in the throat and a
tear in the eye, a swelling of the chest and a quickened breath, a fierce
desire to battle for that which we believe, and even the dedication of one's
life to a cause. Where and when these feelings begin, we do not know,
but we feel that the school should play an important part in developing
patriotism in all its aspects. The small child is just beginning to have
feelings of loyalty and pride, and these will grow best in an atmosphere of
love and security, in aroused interests and broadened fields of knowledge,
in chances to work with others, and through good examples in everyday
living." - (Excerpt from Planned Patriotism)
Bible study is recognized here as of fundamental importance and is a
required subject. It augments the study of English, history,
geography, and science. Without a knowledge of Biblical truth a
student cannot be considered educated. The Bible gives direction for
this life and the only hope for the life to come. No other book can so
enrich the minds and hearts of men as "The Book of Books."
A knowledge of
the Bible is one of the greatest educational assets any man can have in
addition to the moral and spiritual values resulting from the study.
Character development is the most important work of a school. No other
course offered in the school affords the great opportunities for laying the
foundation for Christian character. Heritage Christian School uses the
1611 KJV exclusively.

Statement of Faith
We believe in the Genesis account of the creation which
teaches that all things found their origin in God who instantaneously
created, by His own infinite power, every living thing after its kind.
We believe the Church, the Body of Christ, is composed of all
those who have true faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The visible church, or
assembly, is a congregation of baptized believers associated by covenant in
the faith, fellowship of the Gospel, and observation of the ordinances of
Christ, the true Head of the church.
We believe, according to the teachings of Scripture, that man
was created a moral being in the image of God and after His likeness, but by
voluntary transgression, he fell from his original sinless state.
Consequently, the whole human race was involved in guilt, making mankind
sinners who are depraved in nature, spiritually dead, and hopeless apart
from divine grace.
We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible,
authoritative Word of God. We use only the 1611 King James Bible. We believe
the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is a perfect
treasure of heavenly instruction. It has God for its Author, salvation for
its end, and truth without mixture of error for its matter.
We believe that the Lord Jesus was begotten of the Holy Spirit without a
human father, born of a virgin, truly God, and truly Man. His deity is
absolute, wholly unique, and singular.
There is only one true and living God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and
tri-personal Being, the Creator, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. He is
infinite in holiness and all other perfections. He is the One to whom we owe
the highest love, reverence, and obedience.
We believe in the
literal, bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
We believe that Christians are eternally secure in Christ
since the Scriptures teach that our justification before God rests alone
upon the finished work of Christ.
We believe that all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are
called unto a life of separation and holiness from the world.
We believe in the literal personality and presence of Satan,
“that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole
world.”
* The foregoing Statement of Faith does not exhaust the
extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all
that we believe and practice.
We believe the Scripture teaches the bodily resurrection of
the just and the unjust. All those who through faith are justified in the
name of the Lord Jesus Christ will spend eternity in full enjoyment of God’s
presence in Heaven. Those who through impenitence and unbelief refuse to
accept God’s offer of mercy will spend eternity with everlasting punishment
in Hell.
We believe, according to the Scriptures, in the sure return
of the Lord Jesus Christ. His Second Coming will be a literal, bodily, and
personal return. His coming for the bride, the church, will constitute the
“Blessed Hope” in which we should be continually looking. We believe that
His Second Coming will be pre-tribulation and pre-millennial.
We believe in accepting the literal teaching of the Word.
Therefore, every declaration is to be taken in its primary, ordinary,
literal, and obvious meaning unless the facts of the context and the
well-defined laws of language clearly indicate the terms to be either
symbolic or figurative and not literal.
We believe in the evangelization of the world, placing
emphasis upon the task of reaching the individual with the gospel and its
implications. No humanitarian or philanthropic schemes may be substituted
for the preaching of the cross.
We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit,
the Third Person of the Trinity. He is the Divine Interpreter of the
infallible Word. We do not believe in the modern-day Charismatic Movement
that subscribes to “faith healing,” speaking in tongues, etc.
