BEGINNING OF SCHOOL

ORIENTATION

This is a required meeting for students and parents. The meeting will begin in the auditorium of Ambassador Baptist Church. After general announcements are made, parents and students will be dismissed for a meeting in the student’s classroom to receive more specific announcements from the teacher. High school students will receive class schedules at this meeting.

FIRST FULL DAY OF SCHOOL

Students must be in their classrooms by 8:10.

Regular dismissal 3.00

Students who are not staying for Extended School Day must be picked up at the above times.

ARRIVAL

Students should arrive no earlier than 7:45 unless they are enrolled in Extended School Day. Students who arrive before 8:05 should go directly to the gymnasium. Students who arrive after 8:05 should go directly to their classrooms. Please drop your children off and move as quickly as possible so others can drop their children off expeditiously.

DISMISSAL

Students must be picked up at the dismissal times listed above. We request that you not ask for students to be dismissed early. Students will be brought to the car-loading area at dismissal time. After 3:15 students are taken to Extended School Day. Parents will be charged for Extended School Day if students are not picked up by 3:30. When the weather is inclement, students will be in the foyer.

In order to provide for the safety of our students and to expedite the flow of traffic, we ask that you drive very slowly in the parking lot and follow the traffic pattern outlined at Orientation.

EXTENDED SCHOOL DAY

Extended school day is available from as early as 6:30 A.M. until 5:30 P.M. See below for financial details. A surcharge will be made for each child not picked up by 5:30 P.M.

Parents taking advantage of our extended school day are reminded that this is available on regular school days only, not during any school holidays.

Heritage Christian School expects full cooperation from both student and parent. A student who shows repeated behavioral problems or who is continually picked up late will not be permitted to remain in extended school day.

CLOSINGS DUE TO WEATHER

School closings and delays will be posted on television stations WBTV-3 and WSOC-9 and on AM radio Gospel 900 and on this website.

FINANCES

The registration fee must be paid at the time of registration and is nonrefundable and nontransferable. For all students the registration secures a position in a class and must be paid in advance. This amount is nonrefundable should the student cancel for any reason.

Tuition is due by the first of the month and is late if received after the tenth of the month. If the tenth falls on a weekend this deadline is extended through Monday.

For parents using the Budget Plan, tuition is due each Friday. A late fee of $3.00 will be assessed if the payment is not made by Monday.

Financial Policies

Tuition may be mailed to Heritage Christian School, 239 Mount Herman Road, Hudson, NC 28638.

A late fee of $5.00 will be charged on any school account showing a balance after the tenth of the month. Students will not be admitted to class if payments are one month in arrears or two weeks in arrears for those using the budget plan.

Heritage Christian School endeavors to keep low tuition rates for the benefit of each parent. For this reason, we conduct annual fund-raising programs and anticipate each child’s and/or parent’s participation in helping raise additional funds needed for the designated school projects. The school receives no federal assistance.

Extended school day charges are also due by the tenth of each month. *Important: No K-5 student will be permitted to participate in the graduation program if his account has not been paid in full. This policy also applies to high school seniors.
